On May 1, a nice community event took place in a lovely park in Hrušaŭka, one of Minsk’s most charming neighborhoods.
Built after the WW II, Hrušaŭka (named after the pear trees there) is known for its wooden houses, foliage, colorful inhabitants, and unique spirit. Hundreds of local residents celebrated Labor Day by gathering to hold a picnic, plant trees and flowers, dance and drink tea. While such events are pretty common elsewhere, it’s a growing hipster trend in Minsk these days. CityDog.by was there and produced a photo report which will help you to experience the event’s special atmosphere of happiness and togetherness.
